Pierre-Michel Jean vit et travaille à Port-au-Prince comme photojournaliste indépendant et cinéaste. Membre fondateur et actif du collectif de journalistes haïtiens (Koletif 2D), Pierre Michel est contributeur à leur revue de reportages "Fotopaklè". Pierre Michel a fait des études en Communication Sociale et en sciences juridiques à l’Université d’Etat d’Haïti et est diplômé de Haïti Reporters. Ses travaux photographiques ont déjà été exposés dans le cadre de multiples expositions collectives en Europe comme à New-york, exposition personnelle à Port-au-Prince. En 2018, Pierre Michel est récompensé par le prix du Jeune Journaliste Haïtien pour son travail sur la campagne arc-en-ciel de la communauté LGBTQI. Depuis 2016 Pierre Michel a opéré un virage cinéma, il a réalisé "Les guérisseurs de l'ombre", son premier court-métrage documentaire qui sera présenté au Festival Vues d’Afriques de 2017. « Toro La Cou » est le titre de son premier premier documentaire long-métrage sur lequel il travaille depuis 2017. Pierre Michel Jean est pour le moment boursier de National Geographic (Covid-19 Emergency Fund for Jounalist) et de la Scam « Brouillon d’un rêve » pour son prochain long métrage documentaire.

Pierre-Michel Jean lives and works in Port-au-Prince as a freelance photojournalist and filmmaker. Founding and active member of the collective of Haitian journalists (Koletif 2D), Pierre Michel is a contributor to their review of reports "Fotopaklè". Pierre Michel studied Social Communication and Legal Sciences at the State University of Haiti and graduated from Haiti Reporters. His photographic works have already been exhibited in multiple group exhibitions in Europe and New York, personal exhibition in Port-au-Prince. In 2018, Pierre Michel was awarded the Young Haitian Journalist Prize for his work on the rainbow campaign of the LGBTQI community. Since 2016 Pierre Michel has made a shift in cinema, he directed "Les healers de l 'ombre", his first short documentary which will be presented at the Vues d'Afriques Festival in 2017. "Toro La Cou" is the title of his first first feature-length documentary on which he has been working since 2017. Pierre Michel Jean is currently a National Geographic (Covid-19 Emergency Fund for Jounalist) grant holder and the “Draft of a dream” Scam for his next feature documentary .
